What’s available through the initiative?
Up to 700,000 grants of up to $5,000 to help homeowners make energy efficient retrofits to their homes, such as better insulation

EnerGuide evaluations (worth up to $600) and expert advice to homeowners so they can begin to plan their retrofits

The Canada Greener Homes Grant provides funds for home evaluations and for retrofits, to a total of $5,600. Homeowners are eligible for up to $600 total for the cost of pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluations and for up to $5,000 total for the implementation of eligible retrofits such as home insulation, windows doors, and air sealing.
We will guide you thru the program and arrange for you to get in touch with a registered energy advisors who can conduct both a pre-renovation energy audit and a post-renovation energy audit.

What does the Rebate Qualification Process Look Like?

Home insulation
Update your eligible attic/ceiling, exterior wall, exposed floor, basement or foundation, and crawlspaces. Up to $5,000 Canada Greener Homes Grant

Air-sealing
Perform air sealing to improve the air-tightness of your home to achieve the air-change rate target Up to $1,000

Windows and doors
Replace your windows or glass doors with ENERGY STAR® certified models Up to $5,000

Thermostats
Add a smart thermostat to help improve your comfort and save money on your energy bill (must be combined with another retrofit) Up to $50

Space and water heating
Make the switch to more energy-efficient heating equipment to save on your utility bill and reduce your carbon footprint Up to $5,000 Canada Greener Homes Grant

Renewable energy
Install photovoltaic solar panels to convert sunlight energy into electricity. Up to $5,000 Canada Greener Homes Grant

Resiliency measures
Incentives to protect your home and your family from environmental damages (must be combined with another retrofit) Up to $2,625
